Systems Failure Injures Worker

Jan 18, 2013

A Prestwick worker was injured as she climbed down from a conveyor belt.  Her employers had failed to provide a safe way to gain access to a hopper situated over the belt, and failed stop the practice of climbing up onto the machinery.  As she came down, she lost her footing and struck her arm against the machinery.

She attended her GP, and was diagnosed as having sustained bruising and soft tissue injuries to her arm.  She had fully recovered within 4 weeks.

After the insurers had argued that our client was 50 % at fault for the accident, Cheryl Phillips of Accidentclaims.com was able to settle the claim in the sum of £1,350 on a full liability basis.

“I am exceedingly pleased with the way my claim was handled” said our client. “I really did not expect to receive as much compensation after the initial response from the insurers.”
