Bus Passenger Receives Compensation

Margaret Landsborough was a passenger on a bus travelling through Troon when it was involved in a road traffic accident.  A car pulled out from a side road in the path of the bus causing serious injuries to the bus driver.  Mrs Landsborough was not initially aware that she could make a claim.  When contacted by to provide a witness statement, it became clear that she had sustained personal injuries in the crash, and that she had a claim in her own right.  


Stacey Carey of intimated a claim on her behalf, and was able to persuade the third party insurers to admit liability.  She then obtained medical opinion from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Kenneth Young of Ayr Hospital, confirming the soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulder, chest and knees.  It took her 9 months to recover from the trauma.


After negotiation with the insurers, Mrs Landsborough accepted an offer of £2,400 for her injuries.  In addition, was able to secure a payment of £900 for the help that she needed from her family during while she was recovering.
