Bus Passenger Receives Compensation

Jun 4, 2013

Margaret Landsborough was a passenger on a bus travelling through Troon when it was involved in a road traffic accident.  A car pulled out from a side road in the path of the bus causing serious injuries to the bus driver.  Mrs Landsborough was not initially aware that she could make a claim.  When contacted by accidentclaims.com to provide a witness statement, it became clear that she had sustained personal injuries in the crash, and that she had a claim in her own right.

Stacey Carey of accidentclaims.com intimated a claim on her behalf, and was able to persuade the third party insurers to admit liability.  She then obtained medical opinion from a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Kenneth Young of Ayr Hospital, confirming the soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulder, chest and knees.  It took her 9 months to recover from the trauma.

After negotiation with the insurers, Mrs Landsborough accepted an offer of £2,400 for her injuries.  In addition, accidentclaims.com was able to secure a payment of £900 for the help that she needed from her family during while she was recovering.

“I am really delighted with the result,” said Mrs Landsborough.  “The police had taken a statement from me at the time of the accident, and I only wanted to help the bus driver when accidentclaims.com contacted me.  It was a great surprise to discover that I could make a personal injury claim.  Accidentclaims.com was very easy to deal with and helped me through the whole process.”
