Cold Store Slip Compensation

Apr 16, 2013

Slipping and falling on icy floors is always a potential risk when working in cold storage units.  This is what happened to Robert Howie when he experienced his accident at work.  The cold store had been washed, with water being left on the floor to freeze.  When he entered the store pulling a wheeled container, he slipped and fell.  He suffered injuries to the ligaments and muscles in his knees and hips as a result.

Robert instructed Accidentclaims.com to proceed with a personal injury compensation claim on his behalf.  Cheryl Phillips intimated a claim under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992, and successfully argued that the employers were liable.  The insurers were slow to respond in the discussions regarding the value of the claim.  Papers were prepared for court action, which forced the insurers to make an offer.  The case was settled in the sum of £4,000.

“I have been unfortunate enough to have had a number of accidents at work,” Robert explained.  “Accidentclaims.com has dealt with them all. I have had no hesitation in going back to this firm as they always deal with me quickly and efficiently.  I would certainly recommend them.”
